When we started filming six months ago, we had originally intended to make a film solely about vote-buying. We gathered information from 14 counties, conducted more than 60 interviews, and traveled 20,000 kilometers. According to our interviewees, the lives and votes of rural people are influenced not only by money, but also by drugs and threats. Mayors, insiders, law enforcement officials, and victims explain how this network operates and how it affects those whose votes matter most.

Love Divine is a choral journey into romantic relationships, exploring the emotional destinies of interconnected lives. With an ironic, light tone tinged with bitterness, it portrays a humanity caught in the chaos of love. Each character is a knot in an intricate weave shaped by the capricious God of Love, while Ovid, the eternal poet, guides us from ancient Rome into the present.

Ah-Fu, burdened with overwhelming debt, moves into a container home deep in the woods with his nine-year-old son, Wei-Wei. Together with his girlfriend Jing-Wen and her seven-year-old daughter Huan-Huan, this makeshift, struggling family does their best to get through each day. Though life is poor, these small, fleeting moments gradually gather into a warm current of memories in the child’s heart. Years later, the container home they once lived in appears in the news. Wei-Wei is drawn back to those memories—Ah-Fu’s disappearance, Jing-Wen leaving without a word, a rusted biscuit tin, and a set of unclaimed human remains.

The main characters of the film, the mouse Maurice and the cats Vincent and Cleopatra, will travel from St. Petersburg to Egypt, where they will make new friends, visit the pyramids and open secret dungeons in search of the Genie, who grants one wish once every thousand years. Guests of the presentation were shown a short excerpt in which the characters discover an ancient papyrus with a map and begin to compete with each other.

It's all chaotic. Children are shouting, playing, making a mess, eating whatever they want, and making the world their own. Not an adult voice is heard disturbing the madness. It's San Juan, the night of fire was yesterday, but the party continues... What happened? Where are the parents? With a few shots and four drawings, the film evokes the most perverse and funniest childhood fantasies.
